DDR The Secret Songs

Here's one for you: Did you know in the arcade data for Dance Dance Revolution arcade games you can find data and information for songs that never have been released?

For example if you were to rip the graphics from the DDR 2nd MIX arcade disc you will come across this...

That's right!  Xanadu was actually present on DDR 2nd MIX, although its not playable and was likely something that got scrapped before releases (I mean check out that banner!).

You can find this on the DDR 3rd Mix arcade disc...

The amazing Dancemania song TOTAL RECALL has data on DDR 3rd Mix PLUS.

4th Mix also had some data for unused songs...

Dancing Stage EuroMIX?  Oh ya, among the data you will find banners for BUMBLE BEE, CAN'T STOP FALLIN' IN LOVE, DROP OUT and GIMME GIMME GIMME, but there is one song mixed in there that isn't seen on any other release.

EuroMIX2 is also very interesting.  It has data for Burning Heat! BREAK DOWN! and TSUGARU but it also had N*SYNC in its lineup at one point!

Oh SuperNOVA.  Ya, it has data that isn't in game. Among them is also the banner for Beautiful Life, which is no longer playable on any DDR SuperNOVA kit (it was a e-amuse time exclusive).  This next one may shock you a bit though...

And finally on DDR 1st Mix there was MONEY... You can actually listen to the song if you put the arcade disc in a CD player too!  Its audio is still in the data along with its steps and banners.  I always wondered if it was possible to hack the game to make the song playable.  Same goes with every other song listed on here, but no one I believe knows if the audio data is present for any of the other songs (which would make it VERY hard... Or impossible to do).

Among those I have already listed there are also songs that were scrapped at some point in development.  They were either playable on location test or there is garbage data that references the song as being in the game at some point.  Here are the songs that we know of...

JUMP - BUS STOP (Only was in game during the location test for Dance Dance Revolution back in 1998)
Eyes On Me Featured In Final Fantasy VIII (Almighty Mix) - Faye Wong (Playable during 4th Mix location test I believe)
Ultra High Heels - Taka (Playable during the 4th Mix location test as well I believe.  Might have banner data too)
Got To Get your Love - Fargetta (showed up on 4th Mix PLUS at some point/somewhere)
Give it up - Captain Jack (The junk chart for DAM DARIRAM on Challenge actually belongs to this song.  No banners or any other instance of this song can be found, but the steps match identically to how the song goes).
Timepiece Phase II - Hirofumi Sasaki (Its in the Master Song list on DDR SuperNOVA2 but was dropped from the list on the next release.  I can't imagine a chart being that great for the song)
Ubertreffen - TAKA respect for J.S.B. (Made its way onto DDR X instead!)

And finally because I do not know ifthis song actually gets used at all on DDR X3 vs 2nd MIX there is also PARANOiA MAX ~DIRTY MIX~ (In Roulette Special) among the banners on DDR X3 vs 2nd MIX's arcade data for X3 mode.  I have no idea if it has a challenge chart or if the song is accessible at all.  It would be crazy if no one discovered how to play this song and it was accessible the whole time!
So that pretty much raps up all the missing songs on Dance Dance Revolution.  Hopefully some of you guys find this information as interesting as I do!

Oh and just for fun... This was going to be a thing...
SOLO BASS MIX was going to apparently get a wide release all around Europe in America but it never happened!

  2. MAX. (period) was going to be in SuperNOVA?! That would've made the game so much better! D:
SuperNOVA is still boring due to its many cutoff of songs.

    1. MAX. (period) is not appeared at SuperNOVA. It first appeared at DDR EXTREME. And later, it goes to DDR 2014 - Present. Countable as appeared at DDR 2015!
